Do...
- Remember
that this is about SEX. That's SEX with a capital XXX
- Make sure
your models are happy to be photographed.
- Find a location
where you and your models feel comfortable, and where you are
unlikely to be disturbed. It's a funny thing, but some people
object to sex in public
- Check hair
and make-up before you take any erotic photographs. Cover up any
blemishes - including chipped nails and zits
- Check your
camera's settings before you start. If in doubt pick 'auto'
- Make sure
there's a good light source
- Keep the
light behind you (whether it's the sun or artificial) but watch
out for your own shadow
- Try and show
the model's face in every picture
- Make sure
your fingers aren't obscuring the lens!
- Use the 'redeye'
feature if your camera has one
- Check out
poses in magazines and on sites like this . You'll be amazed how many shots are repeated over and
over again by professional photographers
- Make sure
the models are having fun and (more importantly) make it look
like they are!
- Take lots
and lots of pictures - the more you snap the more you'll be able
to use
- Experiment.
See what works for you. No one expects a professional job every time

Don't...
- Take pictures inside without a flash unless you know what you're
doing
- Get too close to the model if you're using a flash: if you must,
drape a white hankerchief over it to reduce the glare
- Move your hands about when you're taking pictures - out-of-focus
shots may be very arty but are hardly erotic
- Forget to tidy up the room and look behind where the model will
be posing. That torn mattress or tatty wallpaper could ruin all
your shots
- Get water or (even more deadly) sand in your camera
- Worry if your first results aren't brilliant - think how much
fun you're having taking them.
